Hi, I’m Brad Reed—author, educator, and lifelong Oregonian. I’m passionate about storytelling in all its forms, from the words on a page to the everyday stories that shape our lives. My debut novel, Crossing Cascadia, is a journey through the rugged beauty and complex relationships of the Pacific Northwest, inspired by the landscapes and communities I call home.
When I’m not writing, I’m teaching high school English and college writing courses, empowering students to find their voices and engage with the world through critical thinking and creativity. Over the past decade, I’ve taught in both traditional and virtual classrooms, connecting with learners from all walks of life.
Outside of teaching and writing, I live a full-time RV life with my wife and our two dogs, Finn and Scout, exploring the wild beauty of Oregon’s coastline and beyond. With three adult children thriving in their own adventures—two in New York and one in Eugene—I’m no stranger to stories of growth, change, and resilience, themes that echo throughout my writing.
Crossing Cascadia is more than just a book—it’s an invitation to reflect on the ties that bind us to each other and the places we love. Whether you’re here as a fellow writer, a curious reader, or simply someone who loves the Pacific Northwest, welcome! I hope you’ll find something here that resonates with you.
